Outside the loop

January 13, 2008

Hey, this is Rollin. I’ve been away. Let’s get reacquainted.

I haven’t been very involved in games blogging for the past couple of months. Haven’t been too involved in much gaming lately, either. Women, drugs, and higher learning will do that to you. However, although my investment in the gaming “lifestyle” has shrunken, i want Intendo to roll on towards becoming something admirable.

This is such an attempt.

Having consistent posts obviously isn’t gonna happen at our current state. In realizing that we’re not — and shouldn’t be — in competition with the other niche Nintendo sites, i’ve accepted that temporary fate. We’re all busy people with busy lives (how many times have i said that here?), plain and simple. Having a strong, growing readerbase also isn’t going to happen anytime soon unless we become a mindless blogging machine that bounces off Dojo updates in your direction.

We’re going to talk about games. In our way.

This is, obviously, more for my co-editors than the readers, since they pretty much are the readers and the other threads that make up the Intendo fabric. But take this as a renewed mission statement. I don’t really know what’s going on with Nintendo these days, and that probably is ineffectual due to there being no real goings-on for them to begin with. But somewhere in our domes, we always have a little Nintendo wind to break. All of us. So, our irreverence will more likely than not come with extra irrelevance now, but as long we give you something to read, our pro-bono job is done.

Stay peeled, oranges.

Nintendo has done not a damn thing. I don’t know what cards they have up their sleves, but after Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers, I think Nintendo is out of core gamer stuff. Now the HD–DVD is dying fast, PS3 will be picking up steam finally by spreading its user base. If you sell it, devs will come. Thats what Nintendo is waiting for and Sony is hoping for. Fuck, this should have been a post. Hasta
