Sega in bed with Apple too…Sonic is a Whore

First it was Tetris and Mrs. Pac-Man on your iPod, now Sonic makes the spin jump onto the pod (awesome word play right?).

MacNN Writes:

The platformer is iconic to Sega, much as Super Mario Bros. represents Nintendo; the game was originally released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis, and has spawned numerous sequels which continue to this day.”

The title is one of the most graphics- and control-intensive games ever released for iPods, requiring rapid rendering and precise input to be play properly. It is nevertheless available for fifth-generation iPods, in addition to Classics and third-generation Nanos. The game is a $4.99 download and is available from all iTunes Stores around the world.”

What up Nintendo? Oh, thats right. You keep your stuff exclusive. Not so “fast” to get into bed with Apple as Sonic? Damn I need a raise for that kind of wordplay.

You see, that’s the problem with Nintendo’s “casual” games: it is so much cheaper to get a similar experience in any other download service, including cell phones, Xbox LIVE Arcade, Gametap, etc… I recently almost bought a copy of Worms World Party for DS, and then saw that Xbox LIVE Arcade had a much prettier version for a third of the price! Even if you buy all the extra downloadable maps and sounds they have, you are still getting it for about half as much as the DS version.

Err… what was the question again??
