Manhunt 2: homicide of the senses
With a 70 average on Metacric, Manhunt 2 clings to the hope that all its controversy will sell it a few several thousand copies. Proceed with caution.
GamePro:
Only mildly amusing and the violence and gore gets tired after a while. If you’re into movies like Eli Roth’s Hostel then this game’s right up your alley. But, if you’re looking for a thriller with a little more substance, you might want to look elsewhere.
games(TM):
Rather than providing the knockout punch they are intended to give, the comic extremity of the executions tends to diffuse the tension the game so effectively manages to build.
It may be of some interest to you that the PSP version of the game has been hacked to uncensor the game back to its original, Adults Only form. That might suit you better.
Eh, I didn’t care about this game anyways.
That’s VERY interesting. I wonder how much they actually cleaned it up to get an “M” rating.
The word is that they just added those weird filters to the executions, took out some sort of “kill meter” that rewarded players for gruesome executions, and removed a scene involving pliers and genitals….
Even with the Media hype, this game still bombed big time.
If you remove “pliers and genitals” from any game, it’s probably going to bomb. Think about that and you will know its true.
I must say, I could not agree with you in 100%, but it’s just my IMHO, which indeed could be wrong.
p.s. You have a very good template for your blog. Where have you got it from?
