From Yahoooo! to Wiiiiii!: ex-Yahoo marketer hints at joining Nintendo

October 21, 2007

Nintendo’s face marketers — George Harrison, fanboy pinup Perrin Kaplan, and d-list NOA celeb Beth Llewelyn — are on the way out as Nintendo’s expanding balloon grows more inflated, forcing the company to move their HQ to San Fran and New York City. As such, there will be some positions to fill on the NOA roster. One of them may have already been handed to Cammie Dunaway, no relation to Faye (that i know of), alpha mom and former Chief Marketer for Yahoo(!). We know this because she told us. Actually, she said this:

While I can’t share the specifics until mid next week, suffice it to say that it is a natural fit for someone who loves driving profitable revenue for big, well loved consumer brands and can’t pass up the opportunity to be the coolest Mom in the universe.

A hint at an announcement. I looove these industry types. Is there anyone else this could be besides Nintendo, assuming it’s a game company to begin with? Kotaku thinks it could potentially be SCEA (aka Sony of America, or “SOA“), since David Karraker just left them and his bald spot has yet to be occupied. They asked Nintendo and Sony and got a pleasant “fuck off” for a respone, so the suspects are cooperating as dandily as usual. We’ll find out mid next week.Until then, any different guesses? Anybody know this chick?

I don’t know her, but I know yahoo has a lot of talented people in their fold, and they’re aggressively into social networking and the like so it’d be a good fit for Nintendo. She might be the one to tell them to get rid of the friend codes for one thing.

She looks cute enough to replace Perrin!

But I don’t think Nintendo will let her have a say on Friend Codes…
