Contra 4 brings it in more ways than one

October 13, 2007

A lot of people are hopeful about Contra 4, with the return to the 2-D side scrolling roots and difficulty amped up to please the hardcore.  Only time will tell if the game actually delivers on its promise, but the value added bonus content that comes with your purchase of Contra 4 is sure to please.  First off, the original NES Contra and Super Contra.  Next, a “20th anniversary virtual museum”.  Yeah don’t know what that is either.  Lastly, two digital comics by  Contra artist Atsushi Tsijumoto.

There’s also mention of 5 hidden characters but it isn’t made clear what version of they’re hidden in.  Still, a great package overall, and kudos to Konami for thinking to add value to their product make sure that even if Contra 4 bombs fans won’t be too pissed off.

I stick to Super C. Thats what I had. Contra never spoke to me. Contra Hard Corps on SNES was the hardest effin game I have ever played.

Me and my friend Ben killed hours in the projection booth with that ROM.

The original Contra was my shit, too. Don’t think i got past the 2nd or 3rd levels, but it was dang sexy. Felt like Rambo ‘n junk.

I was big on Contra too, and from what I’ve heard this game does capture that spirit. Can’t wait to see if it’s true.
