next Harvest moon to go wifi like animal crossing?

October 7, 2007

Yasuhiro Wada at Marvelous Interactive recently spoke to the peeps over at Game Informer about the next Harvest Moon installment.

“Of course I am now making an online Harvest Moon. I cannot tell you which platform,” Wada stated.
While Wada made it clear that the series wouldn’t enter into the MMO space, this new online version of Harvest Moon will allow 2-8 players to visit your town. Regarding the handling of NPCs that players typically interact with on a regular basis, Wada said that if there’s 40 or so NPCs in your town they’re experimenting with having the same ones in everyone’s town. Could you potentially poach your friend’s wife? Scandalous!

People visiting peoples’ towns? Sounds familiar.
More info on the Harvest Moon series after the jump.

i picked up a version of harvest moon for gamecube and was absolutely obssessed with it for about 2 weeks until i realized that i had fucked up in the beginning and had no way of turning the game around. i was broke, couldn’t buy more seeds or chickens, and the game stopped being fun.

it needs a better tutorial mode, so that i don’t make game-breaking mistakes so early on.

No? Let’s see… It’s a Nintendo exclusive (check), and has online (check), and is being developed NOW (check).

So, it has to be for the DS, right? I mean, there is no other Nintendo platform that fulfills the online component for third-party developers!
