Metroid Prime 3 – Nintendo Delivers (Finally)

First off, I did not think this day would come. I mean, Excite Truck is fun, but hardly a Killer App. The GameCube version of LoZ: TP made the Wii game unimpressive visually as well as tacked on controlls that only really make good use with a bow equipted. Now, I have a stack of Wii games. I mean I am on number 10 and the Wii has never, EVER made the noises I have hear it make in the last few days.

6 hours deep into the game and I have to say it is kicking some ass. I finally got to the Metroid element that drives my love for the series.

The controls properly implemented kicks ass. My wife watched me battle this once boss (No spoilers Rollin) and she exclaimed, “DAMN! Your much better at shooting with the buttons swapped”. Indeed I have kicked some ass with the B trigger. Ball mode is more fun with the flicking to jump and seems to be implemented more often than before. Shooting is just as easy as using a mouse, in fact its better. I find that I am more into the game than I was in the previous two.

The story has emersed me. I guess I should go ahead and trow up the spoiler warning…

————————–SPOLERS————————–

So Metroid faithfuls, Rollin sucks. Hehe. Maybe he will read this one day…Anyway, I love the story of the first planet that’s name escapes me. Killing my fellow bounty hunter was a little hard to me knowing I was killing someone who saved my life. While not only killing him to save my own skin, I am killing him to get his ice beam which makes me feel like a bitch. Having also just been corrupted I know what fate may be ahead of me. If I can save my buddy, how can I save myself.

————————–END SPOLERS————————–

Wow, that was the most dramatic think I have ever written on this site.

I can’t stop playing this game. I will keep it up and play as often as I can which is really hard to do with my schedule.

I haven’t been around here much because I’ve been playing Metroid 3! Sorry…

I-man. Accept my friend credit thing I sent you!!!

Metroid is Nintendo’s pacifier for the Wii. I myself am slowing down on the game when I saw my completion percentage. So far the game is well worth $50 and makes LoZ:TP look silly in comparison as a killer app IMO.

On the DS front they released another DK game, but my DS is officially a Tetris player exclusive to the bathroom. I would have to get another DS before I give that up.

I accepted your Friend Credits, frisby! Thanks… (Although I still need to figure out how those credit thingies work!)

On the DS front let’s not forget Worms Open Warfare 2 and Drawn to Life! The Worms game in particular looks like it could win DS Game of the Year if it wasn’t for Zelda Phantom Hourglass
