Like Nintenmoths to a moneyflame

August 7, 2007

They don’t cry, they shake.

Nintendo’s patented a device that, as you can see, resembles a Game Boy too much to dismiss the possibility of a Night of the Living Handhelds scenario. Except this one’s gimmick is that it wobbles, shakes, and tilts like your regular Wii remote, as my Game Buoyancy Advanced postulated. Whether the fact that it’s a new patent means it’s a completely new (or just newly christened) handheld toy or a Game Boy we still don’t know, but expect this to be Nintendo’s gift to port-horny publishers.

I wonder if some of these Nintendo patents conflict with some Apple patents – I could have sworn I saw a similar article about a year ago for a motion-controlled iPod… (I suppose you could say the iPhone has it, there are accelerometers in there).
