Sony believes honesty is best policy, releases blog

See? Toldja. It was only a matter of time till a little bit of honesty becomes the next marketing tool du jour. In a fit of lucidity, Sony’s put up an official blog to let gamers ahave a sneak peek at how those crazy decisions (We must have Blu-RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!) in Sonyland are made. It’s nice that the people posting put their names and titles, just so you know exactly who you’re talking to, even though some of the posts can be a bit smarmy:

“We love talking to you…

Outside of this brand spanking new blog, we here at SCEA rarely get a chance to talk directly with our consumers – you!”

So basically, it’s a place for Sony fanboys to congregate, whine, and generally feel good about themselves. Honestly though, it’s a good step in the right direction, and Nintendo would do well to follow in Sony’s footsteps, loathe as they are to reveal their secrets like really, what are the tech specs of Wii, and is it true that Shigeru used to munch on magic mushrooms in his youth?
