Suda feels it, too

June 6, 2007

Feels what? The absolute lack of a substantial (or even decent) number of real games coming to the Wii platform, that’s what. From Electronic Gaming Monthly’s July issue, a quote.

No More Heroes stands out among Wii releases by being…well, a real game. In a sea of insubstantial minigame collections, a meaty single-player adventure seems positively ambitious. It’s no accident, and Suda had no shortage of opinions on the state of Wii software. “Let me tell you one thing,” he insists. “I’m not looking to other developers’ Wii titles as reference points during the creation of No More Heroes…I think a lot of developers are preparing original software on Wii presently, but at least in Japan, you can’t deny the fact that developers are planting the soil on this new platform with unoriginal and entirely boring game concepts.”

The man has a point… and he will stab you with it.

I agree. Many wii games can be compared to those in Mario Party 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8. 🙂

And meanwhile, Sony keeps churning out ultra-original and artistic game concepts lately… for the PS2!

What kind of crazy gaming world are we living in??

I’m still feeling that the Wii is under represented gameswise.

I haven’t turned mine on in months and there is nothing that I want to buy on the market just now. I might get SSB, but it’s certainly not a ‘must buy’ for me.
