30% of US will dig 100% of Wii

Surely you’ve heard by now that some analyst somewhere predicted Wii would be crashing (as in staying, sleeping) in, if my math serves me, 30 million US homes. Gravy, another analyst’s kind prediction, what else is new. The reason i’m posting it now is because i just learned that he expects it to reach that number by 2011 — 4 years from now.

That’s a stretch.

I’ma go out on a limb and agree with his preposterous prediciton. The real question is: will Wii last that long in the public eye, or will Nintendo be on the next thing by then?

Absolutely Nintendo will be on the next thing by then! Either Wii II, or something completely different. Wii hardware can only have momentum to carry gamers into 2009!

Some people are starting to come out of that WOW factor:

Me? I still have to see how SSX Blur turns out. Sonic and the Secret Rings is not half-bad, and if it wasn’t for the mullet-head rocker song that comes up EVERY time you finish a run, it would be as much fun as Excite Truck.

I recently got Excite Truck, and that is a great piece of software. A little hole-y, could use some more tricks, trucks, and tracks. But real solid overall, very arcadey. Fun in multi and single.
