Self proclaimed Fanboy dubbed a Citizen

February 18, 2007

So Zelda was delayed way too long. We all bitched but knew it would be better for the delay. The thing that pissed people off is that they announced a release date and then delayed it. People preordered the game and waited and 6 months turned into 18 months. 19 of you still wanted the real version, not the Wii rigged version.

Metroid Prime however, has no release date yet. And so in reality, as a consumer the game is not really being delayed if it has no set date. If it is under development, than it could come out next week or next year and it makes no difference. Bitching and complaining never really does anything but make you look like a child, and if your going to pace gamestop and say “Come on..COME ON…” you will be missing out on a number of current mediocre titles the Wii has to offer. Shame.

So…. the citizen. I saw on an article about Metroid Prime 3 being delayed. The banner of the site read Wii Fanboy. I still gave the article a chance. It read.

Come on! What do we have to do, Nintendo? Do you want us to slay a foreign diplomat? We will, we will honestly go to Wal-Mart, buy a shotgun, and kill whoever you please. Just don’t, in the name of all that is holy and good, delay Metroid Prime 3: Corruption again.

Wow. I dub you for one, being a whiny bitch of a fanboy. I dub you for acting like your threats, or whatever are being heard by the “oh so concerned with your opinion” company that is Nintendo. I also dub you for calling yourself a fanboy, it’s like calling yourself a tool.

I may be coming off a little harsh. I don’t read that site enough to know how serious this guy is. But since Wii fanboy is in the sites title I have to only assume David Hinkle would kill someone so his daddy (Nintendo) will give him attention and play with him.

Oh and you know damn well David Hinkle you beat your meat to Samus in her Zero suit in the last issue of Nintendo Power. That makes it even creepier.

Time comes and Time goes. So what it takes an extra 3-6 months or longer. The more time should make it better. Just the other day I was thinking about all the hoopla surrounding Wind Waker. How the game finally came out. How it finally became a $19.99 game at Target. The earth is still turning and time continues.

The same will happen with Metroid. And in 2+ years we’ll pick it up at target for $15.00 just like I did Echos last month.

Patience is a virtue. Savor the Wii and enjoy what is currently out. Played eveything you’ve wanted. Go out and get some exercise. You can be a slob when Metroid finally gets here.

Now that rant is over with I can start with a new rant

Can Nintendo please hurry up with the Zelda DS game. Why in the hell would I want to wait until Nov. 🙂

Yea I know. I thought I’d throw in some comedy there. I would not kill anyone for any game. Especially metroid.

His comments make me think of Eric Cartman having issues waiting for the Wii release.

If there is anything I’m having a problem be patient with is with what will be released today on the Wii Shop Channel.

Like I commented over at Infendo: the only thing that would make a game or a system a “must-have-right-away” is its online game play.

Since it looks like Metroid won’t have online game play anyway (I know, big rumour without substance), why does it matter when it will come out? You are going to play it alone or with friends at your house, so it doesn’t matter if you get it right when it comes out or six months, or a year later!

Most probably, Metroid Prime 3 is being delayed precisely because of its online gameplay is being funded and tested. It takes a LOT of time and money to finance a workable online service, especially if you are not going to charge for it!
