Help me get a 360

November 16, 2006

To complement my Wii, of course. Amazon is holding an election for four items to be price slashed for a sale next week. Items include an Xbox 360 Core 100 bones (88.3% of votes), a Mongoose bike for $30 (3.6% of votes), a Barbie Doll at $10 (0.9% of votes), and some membership thing for $40 (7.2% of votes). Voting is open now and will be till next Tuesday. You can vote once a week, which means you have 2 votes left in your 6-shooter.

I voted hours ago and was procratinating this post, but Don Cough reminded me. This is that 360 rumor i was talking about, turns out it’s for reals. The 360 basically won it with those votes, but just in case, go do that for me. Just don’t buy any, there are only 1,000 available when it goes on sale on Wednesday.

Single player 360, multiplayer Wii. I like.

shyeeeeet. I want me some of that core goodness. Someone refresh me. How does not having a hard drive ruin the 360 experience, assuming you can’t connect to xboxlive in the first place?

You can’t save, can’t fix certain games with patches, can’t download stuff, can’t do shit. Unless you get a mem card, which you shouldn’t bother with. Buying a hard drive and a wireless controller would get you the essential parts of the premium pack, while only costing $240 US.

…and you can’t play the new 360-exclusive Halo 2 maps that are coming out in Spring, since they have to be downloaded to the hard drive!

You know, that just made me realize something: you can’t save any game progress on the Wii without an SD card, can you? And those cost on the neighborhood of $50.00 and up!

So, that would make the Wii $300.00 at least, right?

Flash memory is there for one main reason, I-man. And before you ask, VC games won’t be purchased, they’ll be licensed.
