Odd man out

When Nintendo introduced the name for the formerly code named console Revolution, they had a video showing that the name really means “we”. A console that is for everyone and is all about bringing people together with games. So with a console soooooo into multiplayer why only pack one controller and a pack in multiplayer game.

$$$$

To me this just upped the price to $310.

And that’s if I am content with just Wii sports. I would feel better getting 2 controllers and have to buy a game, hell I’d even rather have no game and one controller and the console cost $200.

Perhaps Sony and MS have given us too many options by haveing regular and delux bundles.

Maybe Blue Ocean really means contraDICK your customers over.

This may seem like a weak post, but it actually is the only thing that pissed me off about the Wii thus far.

Don’t even talk to me about Zelda…

I am Colonel Chuck Frisby, and the truth may piss you off

I’ve heard this one before… But honestly, when was the last time a console launched with TWO controllers??

My only gripe with the Wii thus far, and this is unconfirmed, is if they apply their “friend code per game” principle also to the Wii’s Wi-Fi… I Nintendo does that, Xbox LIVE is going to eat them for breakfast!

    I hear that, Friz!

You know what though, look at it this way: They’re selling that thing for, basically, $210 bucks a unit. Now, that means you get a GameCube with brand new, modified chips in it that only cost you 10 bucks extra (if we’re strictly comparing launches, which i am). Ok, and they’ve always said “controller this, controller that”, blah blah blah, which pretty much should’ve been an indicator that the money sink would be controllers so the console could stay cheap.

This way, lots of consoles get sold because the cost of entry is lower. If it were the other way around, they wouldn’t sell shit, cause if you can at least buy the console at a reasonable price, you’re bound to purchase controllers (or at least single player games) for it later. The way it is now, no one’s gonna buy a GC controller before they buy a GC just cause it’s cheaper than the system itself.

Man, that was post worthy. Nintendo’s smarter than i thought and it took this for me to realize it. I-man, they probably will use codes, but maybe per system rather than per game.

And i just love that Friz has a tagline.

i think it will be more related to the Mii profiles. You should be able to share your Mii and what games you are playing online with them.

    just a theory.

Are you talking about the wifi? I don’t get what you’re saying.

yes. Once you have your mii charicter it could/would be like a profile. If i saved Rollins Mii charicter I should be able to select you and see what games you have on wifi. But thats all friz-speculation on how I think it should work.

    sheesh!

I get ya. The way they recently described it was pretty vague, but it sounded like every Wii gets one invisible ID that is shared once and works across all games — they even let you know when a friend has bought a new game you may have, then it asks if you wanna add him as a friend for that game.

Interesting, and Xbox Live-ish, but why can’t they just fuckin invent some online parental controls instead of pestering everyone on wifi? It should auto-add all your previous friends to every game and give you the option of removing them when you please.
