Wii best fit for console MMOs?

One guy thinks so. EA Mythic creative director Paul Barnett (Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning) plays off the Nintendo-is-wild-and-Japanese stereotype to make this claim:
You would have to build something very console centric from the get-go. I think probably the best chance of someone doing something like that is Nintendo — doing something crazy that no one expects.
…Like making an MMO, leaving a bad taste in everyone’s mouth, and ruining the chances of anybody else releasing MMOs for consoles? That would be crazy of them. As Final Fantasy IX producer Hiromichi Tanaka stated during last year’s Austin Developer’s Conference, for a Wii MMO to even be technically possible, Wii needs a harddrive.
I’ll throw in another caveat: friend codes. One assumes that Animal Crossing for Wii, a supposed and alleged “MMO”, will be all about the blue light alerts. Not much more than that.
